Wow what a game! Both teams played really well and there were epic performances across the pitch from both sets of players. Millie opened the scoring on 21 minutes tucking the ball in the top corner from a tight angle, when it looked like the chance had passed by. This goal rightly earned her the MIM award as it was a brilliant finish!
Binfield were putting us under lots of pressure when they came forward and could have scored on a couple of occasions, apart from some great defending from Sophia, Neve, Abigail and Dolcie. Rose also made an unbelievable double save when a goal looked inevitable.

Just before half time Binfield were correctly awarded a penalty when Jasmine handled the ball in the area (keep those hands down!!) and despite Rose saving the initial shot, she was unable to do anything about the follow-up.
Maddie put us back in the lead early in the second half, coolly slotting the ball past their on rushing keeper to make it 2-1. The game continued in the same vein with great attacking and defending on show from both sides. With 12 minutes to go Binfield scored with a well taken goal and 2 minutes later took the lead with a great finish that Rose could do nothing about.
Despite a late rally from the Wolves we couldn't get the equaliser and Binfield took all three points. They are really becoming our bogey team, somehow always managing to nick it in very even encounters. This win took them top of the league. We will prevail soon!

Hats off to the girls every single one of them gave it everything and worked so hard both with and without the ball. POM deservedly went to Rose for an amazing performance between the sticks, making some fantastic saves and earning the 'Best goalkeeper in the league' tag from the Binfield coach.

All the girls have come so far this season, they are so much more positionally aware, willing to pass the ball and talking to each other on the pitch. I'm super proud of the progress they have made and would love us to finish up the season by winning our remaining games to end on a high! Well done Wolves!!
